About CarLabs.info — Practical Car Advice for Everyday Drivers

Last Updated:- 25/06/2026

Hi, I’m Ravi Sachan, founder of CarLabs.info.

I started CarLabs because I was frustrated with the car advice I found online. Most of it fell into two categories:

  1. Dealer marketing disguised as helpful guides—recommendations that always pointed back to the dealership.
  2. Overly technical content written for mechanics—full of jargon that left everyday drivers more confused than when they started.

Neither of these helped me when my own car broke down. And neither helps you when you’re standing in your driveway wondering if that weird noise is serious or not.

What We Do Differently

CarLabs focuses on one thing: giving you accurate, actionable information about your car.

Whether you drive a Honda Civic, a Ford F-150, a Toyota Corolla, or a Volkswagen Golf, our guides cover:

  • What’s actually wrong when your car does something strange
  • How much it should cost to fix it—with real 2026 prices, not vague estimates
  • Whether you can DIY it—with step-by-step instructions you can actually follow
  • When you absolutely need a professional—because some jobs are worth paying for

Our Commitment to You

We are 100% independent. CarLabs does not accept payment from dealers, parts brands, or auto shops for coverage. Our only income is from advertising. Our opinions are our own.

We are transparent. Every guide includes real prices, specific vehicle examples, and clear recommendations. If we don’t know something, we say so—and we point you to someone who does.

We are here to help. My goal is to give you the advice I wish I had when I started working on cars.

My Background

I’ve spent over a decade working on cars—from routine oil changes and brake jobs to complex electrical diagnostics and engine repairs. I’ve learned the hard way what works, what doesn’t, and what’s worth paying a professional to do.

I’ve restored a 1987 Porsche 944, rebuilt the engine on a 2002 Subaru Outback, and diagnosed electrical gremlins on everything from a 2015 Honda Civic to a 2020 BMW 3 Series.

I created CarLabs to share that knowledge with you—so you don’t have to learn the hard way.
